Blog/Pearls are hard to come by

The title of this post comes from a pleasant experience from listening to a Podcast episode.

During the last couple of years I've been listening to a lot of podcasts, and while the overall quality of podcast guests and episodes seems to be falling in general, every now and then something interesting (a "pearl") comes by.

The guest I was listening to is Alex Hormozi (I don't really know the guy and he's not in my blogroll).

The "pearl" in this case was really about asking "what do you mean by that?" and agreeing on the meaning of words before going on in whatever the endeavour is. He also exemplifies the active, explicit effor of clarifying meaning of certain key words first thing when writing down a contract rather than leaving that to a general understanding.

And really, I thought on so many occasions where misunderstanding would have been avoided by spending a few minutes making sure all people are actually speaking about the same things/issues.

But really the meaning of the title is a reflection on the fact that while the content of most of the podcast episode didn't really sparkle any interest in me, that couple of minutes of conversation near the end of the episode was really super interesting to me, likely in a way that would surprise both the podcast host and the guest.

Pearls are hard to come by.
